This year WEST COAST WRESTLER will have our full line up of camps PLUS we will be adding in a 5-day all girls camp in 2023. NCAA National Champion Mark Muñoz will be the head clinician for each camp and will be bringing in some of his favorite clinicians as guests. Wrestlers will train along side Coach Mark and staff learning technique that is successful at the highest level. We will have morning beach runs, afternoon pool workouts, live/intense drilling practices, team competitions, and motivational/mental training sessions. We are confident wrestlers will walk away better both on and off the mat.

2023 SESSION DATES AND INFORMATION
The 5-Day Intensive Training Camp is scheduled from July 21-25, 2023. **RESIDENT SPOTS FULL**(Get on the waitlist here or register as a commuter)
Check-in will be from 12:00-1:30pm on the 21st. Check-out will be at 12:00pm on the 25th. Details will be e-mailed out during the month of June, but please feel free to contact us with any questions at any time.
Intensive camps are open to any and all wrestlers 14-18 years of age and currently in Jr High or High School. Female wrestlers are welcome and will be housed in a separate dorm.
Please note this will be an advanced camp, so 2-3 years of experience is highly recommended.
REGISTRATION COST

Commuter (Day Camper) - $495* (SPOTS OPEN)
$100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a spot (with registration form). The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the camp start date.
Group Discounts: Bring a group of 10+ and receive $25 off of each wrestler. Group applications must be sent in the same envelope.
*Please note: WCW operates in partnership with USA Wrestling and their membership program. All wrestlers without a current USA Wrestling membership card will incur an $8 fee for coverage during camp. LOCATION
The camp will be held at The Army and Navy Academy located in Carlsbad, California. It is centered on a sixteen acre campus perfectly situated on the Pacific Ocean, thirty-five miles north of San Diego and eighty miles south of Los Angeles. Map

IMPORTANT TO NOTE
It is important to note that due to the level of activity an intensive camp requires, we HIGHLY recommend to come to camp in good shape. While this is a wrestling camp where learning/improving technique is a priority, we will also place a large focus on physical activity to push the boundaries to gain a mental edge.
MEALS AND LODGING
Overnight campers will stay in dorm rooms directly on The Army and Navy Academy campus. There will be 2-4 campers in each room with close supervision. There will be 3 meals offered each day along with a camp store to purchase additional food items.
TRAVEL
For those traveling by plane or train, there will be vans available to pick up and escort each camper to the Army and Navy Academy.
Flights should be scheduled into the San Diego International Airport arriving before 10:30am on registration day and leaving after 3:00pm on the final day of camp.
Trains should be scheduled into the Oceanside Amtrak Station arriving before 11:00am on registration day and leaving after 1:30pm on the final day of camp.

WHAT TO BRING
Overnight campers must bring:
- Wrestling gear: Wrestling shoes, kneepads, headgear & mouthpiece (optional), etc.
- Clothes: 12-15 sets of workout gear (t-shirts, shorts, socks), sweat tops & bottoms, pants, etc.
- Running shoesSwimsuits and beach towels (recommended to bring 2-3 of each)
- Personal items (bath towels (2-3), shower items, antibacterial soap, etc…)
- Shower shoes (flip flops or waterproof sandals)
- Mesh Laundry Bag
- Bedding to fit a twin size mattress (sheets, blankets and/or sleeping bags, and pillows)
- Goggles (Intensive wrestlers only)
- Refillable water bottle
- Bug spray
- Sunblock
- Small Fan (recommended - it gets warm)
- Money for camp store (optional)
- Defense foam or wipes
- An attitude of a champion
FYI: Laundry will be done for all wrestlers on the third day of camp, but please pack generously. It is always better to have too many shirts and shorts than not enough!
BEACH USE
We will be using the beach for morning runs, team competitions, character building activities, and free time every day. During these activities, we will be using the sand area or shallow water only! Swimming in the ocean is not required during any activity. Life guards and camp counselors will be on duty at all times we have beach access.
POOL WORKOUTS
We will be cross training in the pool each day. Life guards and camp counselors will be on duty at all times we have pool access. (Wrestlers will learn how to swim if they do not know already)
DAY CAMPERS
Day campers will be expected to be in attendance by 6:00am to join in the morning beach runs. Night sessions will end at 9:00pm. Because of the early start and late let out, all meals will be included along with a camp store to purchase additional food items. Day campers must bring wrestling gear (wrestling & running shoes and workout clothes), swimsuits, and an attitude of a champion.
ALL CAMPERS
Each wrestler will come away with expert knowledge on the sport of wrestling. All participants will be given a booklet containing the techniques taught during the camp, as well as a character file with several inspirational quotes, stories, and testimonies. The purpose behind this is to encourage the campers to become students of the sport. We hope that the campers will come away having had great experiences that will not be forgotten. Please note this camp that will only allow you to reach a higher goal if practiced correctly and consistently. Consistency and hard work paired with world class technique is the key to a successful wrestler!
COVID PROTOCOL
Wrestlers may not come to camp if:
Exhibiting any symptoms of the coronavirus: mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough and difficulty breathing, or other symptoms identified by the CDC, or if you have been in close contact with someone with COVID in the last 5 days. Vulnerable individuals whose immune system is compromised should speak with their physician prior to attending camp.

SUPERVISION
The Army and Navy Academy campus offers a 24 hour security system, equipped with campus police and video monitors. Along with the campus police, we will have counselors on hand to supervise. Although this does not guarantee safety, we feel we are taking the measures necessary to help the camp run as smoothly as possible. (Beach access is locked during non-use times and will be monitored by campus security 24 hours a day. We will also have life guards on duty at all times during our beach use).
INSURANCE
Participants must have a USA Membership Card to attend camp this summer. This is the same card used to participate in USA sanctioned tournaments and events. Please note this will be secondary insurance for you in the event it is needed. usawmembership.com
CANCELLATION POLICY
We know that not all things in life go as planned, so campers may cancel at any time before 14 days prior to the camp start date. We will refund the amount paid minus the $100 non-refundable deposit. Cancellations within the 14 day window will be issued a camp credit for 50% of the total amount paid. No refunds or credits will be given for any reason on or after the camp start date*.
*COVID related cancellations within the 14 day window will receive 100% camp credit for future camps. Please note: Proof of a certified positive PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to camp must be submitted for credit. Home tests will not be accepted.
